UK medical device specialist, Sphere Medical, is one medically science based company that is pushing its technology into Japan, they have appointed a Tokyo business as exclusive distributor for its Pelorus 1000 propofol measurement system in the Japanese market.
Sphere Medical, which develops innovative monitoring and diagnostic products for the critical care setting, has tied up with Finggal Link Co, which distributes medical and life sciences equipment. The Pelorus 1000 is said to be the world’s first commercially available rapid propofol analyser, used  for general anaesthesia in the operating room and for sedation in the intensive care unit. The ability to measure and adjust propofol levels is expected to be a key tool in individualising and optimising therapy at the patient level.

Japan is an important market for new medical technologies and Finggal Link has a strong record in the introduction of such technologies to the anaesthesiologist.”
